STEMinar: Ariana Elena Castillo "Disability Advocacy in STEM"

Please Join the Caltech Center for Inclusion and Diversity in welcoming Ariana Elena Castillo (she/her/ella). She is a PhD student studying atmospheric and climate dynamics at Harvard University. Beyond school and science, she is very passionate about prioritizing mental health in academia. Being diagnosed with multiple conditions that are considered disabilities in undergrad, aspects of her journey were unconventional. Feeling isolated, she started posting about her experiences with ‘invisible' disabilities on Twitter to raise awareness and to have conversations about the intersections of mental health and disability in academia.
